Education, Planning, and Support for End-of-Life

What is an End-of-Life Doula?

An end-of-life doula (EOLD) is a non-medical companion who provides guidance, comfort, and support to individuals nearing the end of life and their loved ones. EOLDs help navigate the unknowns of death, offering reassurance and clarity while demystifying the dying process.

Working alongside hospice or palliative care teams, doulas complement existing services by offering a wide range of holistic support—including physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical care. Their role extends throughout the entire end-of-life journey, from initial diagnosis to early bereavement. Many EOLDs also assist individuals with advance care planning, helping them make informed decisions about their future at any stage of life.

End-of-life doulas are also known as death doulas, death midwives, or sacred passage doulas. While these terms may feel new, the practice itself is ancient and deeply sacred, rooted in traditions of tending to the dying with presence, dignity, and compassion.

As an end-of-life doula, I offer a calm, compassionate presence for you and your loved ones during life’s final months, days, and hours. Through heartfelt conversations, I help clarify end-of-life wishes, encourage self-advocacy, and create a space of dignity, grace, and support. My goal is to ensure that each person approaching death feels cherished and at peace, while their caregivers feel empowered and confident in providing care. My services are rooted in physical, practical, emotional, and spiritual support, tailored to honor the unique needs of each individual and family.
